The Canadian Forces have for many years carried on the tradition of the Mess Dinner. It is a time when military discipline is relaxed a little and the Officers have the opportunity to thank the troops for their efforts over the year. The Commanding Officer exchanges tunics with the most junior member of the unit who becomes the CO for the evening. Another member is selected to become the Chief. The Officers normally do the serving of the dinner. Songs, skits and presentations also form part of the evening. It is a time for the family to gather.
The 614 Squadron family will gather on Friday December 20, 2019 to celebrate this annual tradition.
The Dinner will be held at the elegant Mocha Shrine Centre, 468 Colborne St., London On N6B 2T3. The Centre is located just north of Queens Ave on the east side of Colborne. The entrance to the hall is through the lane way to the south of the building.
Cadets are to gather at 5:45 pm. Dinner will commence at 6:30 pm.
A dance will follow and the evening will finish at 11:00 pm.
Dress for the dinner is C2. Female Cadets can be either a semi-formal dress or C2. For those who do not yet have uniforms, white dress shirt a with bow tie and black pants. Cadets may bring a change of appropriate clothing for the dance.
There is a cost of $10.00 per cadet to help defray the cost of the evening. Mark your calendar and plan on attending this fun evening
